Wooden toys competition: Win a fruit smoothie blender from The Wooden Toy Shack

Le Toy Van Fruit Smoothie Blender – getting their '5 a day' has never been so much fun!

Le Toy Van Fruit Smoothie Blender – getting their ‘5 a day’ has never been so…um… wooden.

O to the M to the G – is this wooden smoothie maker just the cutest little toy set you’ve ever seen or what? I know! Well… do you fancy winning one then?

We’re massive fans of wooden toys here at Gammon & Chips HQ. OK, yes… a teeny bit because it makes me feel like I’m one of those Scandinavian home-schooling mothers who let their children run about in the woods in various stages of undress with gay abandon… but also because they ooze retro cool, feel so lovely, smooth and natural to play with, and (don’t pretend you don’t do it too) make a really addictive clinking sound when you bang them together. OK, OK… it’s just me then.

So… we were delighted to be sent an utterly adorable Le Toy Van Fruit Smoothie Blender by our new favourite online shop, The Wooden Toy Shack. I mention ‘new’ not only because it’s our new favourite… but it’s also a brand new supercool online venture – so please check out all the tres gorgeous wares they display under the spot-on strapline ‘Naturally more creative’.

Who knew that bearskin hats make the Royal Guards taller than a London tube train? #perspective

Apart from this dreamy blender, Chips loves the look of the ultra-cute Honeybake coffee machine and their range of wooden toy kitchens and play foods, while this über-cool Tidlo London wooden train set that they stock is one I bought Gammon a couple of years ago for his birthday (see, I told you I’m already one-part Scandinavian earth mother!).

As soon as Chips saw the wooden smoothie maker set in its colourful stripy box, she was transfixed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her eyes light up in quite the same way before – although you’d never know from her ‘stop patronising me mum’ look in the photo below. But despite that snapshot, the daily ‘imaginative play’ quota in our house has pretty much trebled in one fell swoop – if only her sudden health-kick would extend beyond the wooden variety. Oh well… I can but dream.

"Mum...just because I'm pretending to chop a wooden banana and putting it in a wooden smoothie it DOES NOT mean I'm going to start drinking real ones. FFS, what were you thinking?!"

The wooden smoothie maker set comes with a blender complete with a detachable jug, 6 sliceable fruits (velcro-a-go-go), a play knife and 2 serving cups with removable fillings. The bottom of the blender even has a little dial you can rotate which makes a cool clicky sound as it goes round.

So… would you like to win one worth £29.95? To get slurping, just enter via Gleam below and you could be drinking wooden mocktails in the sunshine before you know it.
