Carnivale Dominos Pizza Party

Aussie Aussie Aussie. Oi Oi Oi!

Aussie Aussie Aussie. Oi Oi Oi!

It’s World Cup time – yeah!

Well… that was before the two teams I’m cheering on – Australia and England – failed to gain any points whatsoever in their first two matches… but hey ho, I’m not going to let that rain on my parade!

Family Gammon & Chips was lucky enough to be offered a #pizzaparty courtesy of the lovely people at Dominos and boy, did we celebrate in style!

We invited our football-lovin’ friends, Anna and Stef, and their two kiddiewinkles, Coco and Goldie, over to watch the Australia Vs The Netherlands match on Wednesday.

We had bunting-a-go-go.photo 1 copy

We had football-themed plates and cups.

We had Brazilian-green serviettes.

And most of all, we had pizza! And plenty of it too!

We had a right Fiesta!

We had a right Fiesta!

You see, Dominos have launched their new limited edition Carnivale pizza range in honour of the summer football. All items are inspired by the wondrous nation of Brazil and include:

  • Fiesta pizza – chicken breast strips, red onions, green and red peppers, seasoned with a fajita spice with a drizzle of Mojito style dressing
  • Rio pizza – pulled Barbacoa beef, punched up with a kick of chipotle sauce, red onions, and green and red peppers
  • Nachos – with Domino’s secret recipe tomato sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese, with or without jalapeños, served with a tangy salsa dip
  • Fajita wedges – the favourite potato wedges baked with fajita seasoning, served with a tangy salsa dip

photo 5In the words of The BFG, and quite possibly also Ned Flanders, the whole range was scrumdiddlyumptious, but my favourite by far was the ultra zingy Fiesta pizza. The mojito dressing was uber minty and almost as good as the real thing… well, apart from, obviously, the missing rum, and the fajita spice was totally zig-a-zig-ah!

So, yeah. The Australian Socceroos lost to Holland, but not without a ferocious fight and a blinder of a left-foot strike by Tim Cahill. They may be out of the World Cup, but I reckon they can go back home to the Vegemite Nation with their heads held high. Well done boys! It may not have been the result we all wanted, but you certainly entertained.

Happy World Cup everyone!

*Disclaimer: we were provided with a Dominos pizza party in return for this honest review. The Fiesta was kick-arse!
